Is the sandisc and backup cards the same thing? Do you just use 2 sandisc cards? One for backup and one for putting some of your programs or data on? I've read different beliefs on whether you should format the cards or not. I am confused as to what to do and what to buy. My palm 515 is half full and I was thinking that it would be good to have a backup card and then also have a sandisc card to put some programs and data on. AM I correct?
Thanks

Unless your need for extra software is immense, one card should be enough.
I have a 64 mb MMC and carry maps, textbooks and a dictionary on it and still can use it to do my regular backups with the free version of BackupBuddy.
Even with this I have space to spare, so just try one card at a time, you will love the feeling of security, when you always carry a recent backup

Jaques;
Can all applications be installed on this card or are there certain programs that are best left on the Palm?

How do you put programs and/or data on the disk? Are you supposed to format the disk first or not. I've heard both yes and no. Is the MMC card the same as a San Disc card?
Thanks

cricket7, SanDisk is the name of a company that manufactures memory cards. SanDisk makes MMC (multimedia cards), Secure Digital cards, Smartmedia cards, CompactFlash cards, etc. In my Palm m505, I have a 64MB Secure Digital card made Viking Components. I keep most of my applications, data, photos, and my backup on my SD card.
