The main battery in my 7book lasts only a couple of hours and takes less an hour to recharge. I haven´t been too systematic with the recharging so I have probably myself to blame.
However, is there any remedy for this failure. For instance, how do I totally drain the main battery to be able to start from scratch ?
Looking forward to any suggestion. Thank you.

Perhaps you might want to try charging the battery for longer ?

On the Series7/Netbook et al, the battery LED changes colour from orange to green well BEFORE the battery charge cycle is completed.

Try leaving your 7book on charge for 2-3 hours.

Also screen brightness and use of PCMCIA cards make a BIG difference to the battery life.

Battery in the 7MNbook has quite a long life.

Thanks, Ralph.

I´ll try keep charging my 7book for a longer period next time. And yes, I do always keep either a wireless network card or a PCMCIA modem in my 7book although these cards are not connected to the net at all time. Furthermore, I might try to run my 7book without any card to see how much difference it does.

Hi Kim

I'm wondering how old your machine (and therefore its battery) is? After three years regular use my original netBook battery certainly does not hold its charge as well as it used to. I don't think charging discipline is too important on S7/netBook (certainly nothing like on the Revo!) although general concensus seems to advise keeping the battery topped up if possible, rather than going through frequent full discharge/recharge cycles.

You might find it helpful to install Kevin Millican's excellent ChaDis battery monitoring program - this one is specifically for S7/netBook:

It's freeware - thanks Kevin!
