I'm a biker since... hmmm... let's say, a long time. Last year, I got a pretty good shape Honda Goldwing, year 1980. In a good shape, but... without clock and equipped with an old time electro-mechanical radio.
I throw away the radio, replaced it by an in-car audio ampli and since... look for a kind of thing with music and clock to run with this ampli on this bike. Not easy, as this bike was not thinked for this purpose.
I tried a cd-walkman; good, but not really what I need.
Just yesterday, before I go to Morpheus country, I got THE idea: why not my Zire?
Why not?
Already go to work whit this kind of idea in mind? Today was a very, very long day at work. At last, I left roughly 2 hours before time to come back home and... guess what? Explore my idea.
Amazing... really amazing! I knew absolutely nothing about mp3, Real Player and these kind of stuff. In about 2 hours, I loaded Real Player in Zire, found some pieces of music to try (CCR group), fitted it to the bike and... it works very, very well! :)
Get this: I was looking for a solution for so many weeks and I found it right on me, with my Zire 71!
I'm wonder if Palm guys ever thought about this kind of using the Zire 71...:D
Now... I have to get a 256M SD card and fill it with very, very good music. Not for biking: winter is coming, here. But for my daily use, of course, as now, I know something about mp3 files... :rolleyes: :D :D
And next spring, you will see (and hear!) the musical 1980 Goldwing running in the city!
