From SPECTERSS: "I think you could use that one from palmone support site for m505"
- Do you have the URL to it?
I am suffering from the same crashed blinking Palm logo, no hard reset recovery, I own a 4.1 upgrade disk but this has a ROM library only for the earlier models, latest is the Vx.

Here it is.
http://www.palmone.com/us/support/downloads/palmos41.html
CD with palmos 41 upgrade is for III/IIIx/IIIxe/V/Vx/IIIc only.

It's all my foolish fault!
I got a T3, gave my BELOVED 505 to my girlfriend, loaded a new app on it for her, put it in flash . . . lots of other stuff in flash, no problems . . . Uh oh. Reset . . . "Fatal Alert/Null Handle."
Did HARD RESET! Fatal alert/null handle. Did a "downbutton, blinking logo" (WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN, BY THE WAY??)
and nothing. Another hard reset . . . nothing. Fatal. Let battery drain. Zip. Fatal. Dohhh!!!!
I downloaded the 4.1 ROM upgrade from palmOne, but this thing won't even hotsync to upload the rom!! BIGGER HAMMERS!!!
Can anyone help an overly-meddling, "should have left it alone" Brit fix his sweetie's 505? Otherwise it's shopping time . . . I feel so bad a tweaked it so much when I had it, without A SINGLE PROBLEM, but break it when it's hers.

Do you have a copy of the original M515 OS4.1 Rom ????
then reflash that onto the palm, that will work.
if it doesn't hotsync or powers on when you put it on or take it off the cradle then you also have a battery problem.
To find out if you have a battery problem put it on the cradle overnight and if it doesn't at least come on in the morning then the battery is dead or dying.
If the battery is dying or dead then you might want to get a new battery and I'll send you a link to a page that will show you how to replace the battery yourself etc.
believe me - there is no need to buy a new palm just yet!
...let me know how you get on!
