Yesterday I had NetChaser on my TC scanning for Wi-Fi connectons. As I walked through my neighborhood NetChaser found 22 SSID's. Not a single one of them were secure. They were all broadcasting their SSID and none of them had WEP security enabled. I even accessed the internet through one of them. (I got off as quickly as I got in so I would not be accused of hacking). In fact I didn't need to hack anything. There are several Wi-Fi access points in and around my neighborhood with open internet connections. It is obvious that their computers would be open to hacking too. One of the strongest signals was from a business. I went in and told them what was going on. The IT person kind of blew me off. However, when I showed a manager how I was able to access the internet from his parking lot he freaked out. Today they are not broadcasting their SSID and I got an email from the manager thanking me. One of his employess had set up a Wi-Fi router on his desk without telling anyone. I was accessing the internet through the employees connection and not through the companys network setup. He also asked if I would come in this afternoon and talk to him.
