Had my cruzer plugged into my laptop when I turned it on and for some reason it automatically did a "checkdisk" on the SD card and "converted directories to files"

God know why it would do EITHER of those things, but now when I access the card the palm freezes.

The manual doesn't say anything about formatting the card (unfortunately). You're best bet would be to buy a card reader (get a universal, like an 8 in 1 or something) and delete all of the files like a regular drive. You'll want a card reader anyway to make it faster to upload mp3's or other files. Those card readers are like $30 if you shop around a bit.

That said - I finally put it in a camera, formatted it to the camera, then popped it back in the palm and then was able to format it again for the palm.

Seems OK now.
