Hello

Give it a limit (size) by make maps for the IQ3600?

I have a error message like this:

The map set is too large, Please choose a smaller map set.

The map will be 300 Mb - 400 MB and include 500 to 600 maps.

Thank you for your help

Too little memory where you plan to send your maps to.

I have 400 MB of maps on a 512 MB card, all loaded in one chunk. It can be easier if you use a card reader.

Thank you, Jonas

but i have also a 512 MB card.

The message come by create the maps, not by transfer to the card.

Good idea, cardreader/writer! ;-)

That's a hugh number of maps -even for that size file I think. I don't know. I did a qick check in sci.geo.satellite-nav and didn't find anything. Maybe there is a max number of maps that can be indexed?

have you checked the disk space on the PC, have you got enough disk space for 400Mb map file?

Zonti:

What are you using to make the maps? Are you using the Map Install tool that's installed as part of Garmin's Palm Desktop, or are you using the more comprehensive MapSource program? Do you have the most recent version of whichever one you're using? I think I remember something about some update to one of those that helped fix some map-generation issue(s).

Here's where you can get the latest updates for either. The MapSource update is under the MapSource link. The Map Install tool update is under the iQue 3600 link. It's one of the updates on the right side of the iQue 3600 update page.

I hope this helps.
