Hi all,

Subject line tells all. I upgraded from an M130, charged my new E, HotSync'd w/no problem, and now am frozen on Palm Powered screen. I've tried soft reset a couple of times - no luck. Also off-on button doesn't do anything in frozen state.

Appreciate any help you can provide.

Thanks

Try this: Go into your C:\Palm\(your user name) folder and rename the Backup folder to Backupold or something like that. Then, do a hard reset of your E (hold power button while poking the reset button, when the message about erasing all data comes up follow instructions to wipe your data out), then HotSync again. This will load your addresses, memos, ToDo items, and datebook. If the E works now, load your add-on apps from the Backupold folder one or two at a time and check to make sure the E works properly each time. DON'T try to load OS patches or updates from the m130, and DON'T load Hacks or Hack manager (i.e. X-Master, HackMaster, TealMaster, etc.).

It sounds to me like an app or update/patch conflict.

Thanks, Telyx!

Your solution worked like a charm. Obviously I had a problem with some app or patch from the M130 download.

Thanks again - the E seems like a pretty cool PDA.

It is mighty cool as long as you don't get one with a bad battery (loses charge overnight with no use).

When I upgraded from a m125 I remembered having installed a couple of updates (FATFS and something else I can't remember), plus I had several Hacks and add-on fonts in the m125. From what I read on all these message boards, I knew none of those would work in a T/E, so I deleted them from my Backup folder and HotSynced the E. Several of my apps didn't work, but all they did was freeze the E, and a soft reset got me to the point where the app could be deleted.

I found updated versions of some apps (Astro Info, Planetarium, etc.), re-installed LauncherX to get the hi-res icons, and had to do without a few oldies-but-goodies (Reptoids, Godot 1.0, and a few others I could live without anyway).
