I have S3 contact files on my Psion Series 5 mx; these are separate from the Series 5 mx Contacts file. How can I import these into Outlook Contacts without re-keying every contact?
From Outlook, I would then synchronize with the contacts in my Pocket PC 2003 based PDA.
Thanks,
Chris

Chris,

Are these S3 or S3a, c, or mx data files? I have no expierience with the S3 so I don't know if it has the same export capabilities as the later S3's. Assuming they are all the same, you can convert the data files to comma separated values (CSV) files from Data using double quotes as the text qualifier, comma as the separator, and end of line as the entry separator. Save these files with a .CSV extension.

Copy the files to your PC with no conversion. You can then open Outlook and go to File, Import, Import from another file or program. Choose Comma Searated Vales (Windows) as the file format. Browse to find the CSV export file and open. Choose the folder you want to import to. Use the Field Mapping option to match up the field names from the Psion to the OUtlook fields names and then import.

It's likely to take several runs before you get all the file matching right so take a backup before doing any of this so you can revert to the backup should things not turn out right.

(I have moved this thread to the Series 3 section since that's where it belongs)

Jim,
The files were from 2 Psion Series 3 that I owned. I transferred then to the Series 5 mx from my PC using the PsiWin restore function. I presume they are either Series 3 or 3A file format.
Copies of each are on my Series 5 mx and PC.
I'll try your suggestions and if you have other thoughts after receiving this reply, let me know. Thanks for your help.
Chris
