Hi all,
I previously used Windows and Outlook and was able so sync between Outlook and my mc218.
I have looked around and it seems like there is no such thing for Ximian Evolution (Pretty much the same as Outlook, but for Linux).
So i thought maybe i should write a program that can sync between between Evolution and psion machines (mc218/5mx to start with).
Are there any interest for such a program?
If you know of any project like this, please let me know. :)

Is Ximian Evolution X11 based at all?
If so, then you might be a saviour for all those Apple MacOSX users who cannot do much more than backup via FTP or CF card reader.
The reason I ask is that the X11 environment will run on MacOSX and means that several Linux Open-source programs can be run (eg GIMP, Bluefush).
However, in my view, any software solution that could extend the synching capabilities of ER5 would be welcome. It might offer a light for several people who feel tied to MS Outlook and Windows in general.
FWIW, one area still needing filling for everyone in the Psion world is perhaps synching over IP connections, as well as physical (serial) connections. Would ethernet synching be a possibility for your proposal?
Thanks for the idea - I hope others will offer their thoughts to encourage you!

Yes Ximian Evolution (http://www.ximian.com/products/evolution/) is running on X11.
My first goal is to find out how the synchronization can be done, meaning how Evolution stores its data and how Agenda/Calendar stores its data and how the logical synchronization will be done.
The second issue will of couse be how to send the data to and from the machine. I will look into any suggestions and see if its reasonable to do.
This is a really new area for me so all suggestions and tips are welcome!

Apparently Evolution can work on an X Server running under MacOSX but is unsupported. Has anyone any more info on this or are we chasing a cat up the wrong (apple)tree?
