I just bought my iQue 3600 last Saterday, Nov. 15 ......On the 19th I could no longer adjust Screen brightness more than a few light degrees (I think there called Lumins?) It will go to the off position and back to a low light position, but nothing forward to the bright side of screen. It worked fine the first couple of days ?
I made my purchase through is a good company, so I'm not warried about an exchange. The gentleman I spoke with said they would have more 3600 in next week, If this is something someone has already experienced and it's not a big deal, would you PLEASE share the fix.
I read what I could on soft and hard fixes, but they seem to pertain to other issues.
Thanks In Advance, Lee

Press and hold the iQue on/off (top) button.
It toggles between dim and normal modes.

A short (momentary) press will turn the unit on or off.
Hope this helps.

A good way to turn backlight on and off is to use pen stroke command as defined in Preferences>Buttons> "Pen" box. Handy for hiking

I think I know what problem you're talking about, I had it occasionally before going up to rev2 firmware, but a quick soft reset would fix things. Now I have problems where the battery meter won't change for a while after I charge my iQue, and if the power is low enough, it will shut down the iQue if I bring brightness up all the way (even though the battery is fully charged). But thats for another thread....

It could also be because your battery is not charged up enough. The unit will automatically start controlling the backlight if you don't have much battery power left.

So did you actually perform a soft reset (poking the reset pin in the back of the unit)? This is very similar to rebooting your PC. It shouldn't hurt anything and it can often clear up problems that may have started.

Also, have you upgraded to r2, yet? Here is one of the documented fixes in r2. "Backlight is always restored to the correct level after a low battery has been charged." If you're still back on r1, this might be your problem.

Hope this helps.
