Toshiba e740 Accessories

Has anyone heard of any "non toshiba" accessories or sites that are any good?

The only accessory I've found is a case for the e740. It's sold at HandheldPlanet.

I found that Belkin has several nice accessories for the e310 and the e740. I bought their leather case and styli for my e310, and I think that they have USB cables as well. They sell directly via www.belkin.com and I think that other stores have them as well (including BestBuy and PCConnection).:cool:

A great leather case I bought can be found at www.pielframa.com. They are a lot cheaper than the guys at expansys that sell their products :p

I finally found genuine Toshiba accessories at Toshiba's Shop Toshiba web site. www.csd.toshiba.com alittle spendy but nice accessories. I have done a lot of searching and not many things out there yet, but there will be. All we can do is ask everyone who makes accessories to make some for the e740. Good luck!

Just one more note on this topic... The extended battery (which gets you up to about 10-12 hours of "up-time")

WORKS GREAT!!

The battery is a 3000mah Lithium ION battery and is very strong. If you want a longer usability time I would strongly suggest it. It fills the open space in the back of your Toshiba cradle and is not "too" heavy. Just to let you know my stats... I used the factory 1000mah battery for an hour straight before it told me to charge. The new battery I was still at 94% after 1 hour and 30 mins of my meeting.

Yes, I'm using it mainly to provide a serial connection to my e740, using a USB to serial cable, that allows me to connect an external modem (or a cellphone).

I have used also with a USB keyboard and I have tried to run a few things using my PC display too.

So mainly I got it to have the USB port.

I've got the expansion pack which I use to Powerpoint presentations on screens with. Works pretty good.

What is the USB/Serial cable you used with it? Is there a good terminal emulator to use as well?

I have found something REALLY neat for the e740. Socketcom makes a Digital Phone Card (DPC) that works in the e740. It's a CF card and it plugs into your cell phone.

They make several models that work with various cellular phones (so you have to pick the right one). This will turn you cellular phone into a modem. I don't know if it will work on every cell provider or not but if you want some mobile access this might be an option.

Oh, by the way, Amazon.com has them ON SALE!! right now. But of course like everything they are "out-of-stock". I ordered mine so good luck to all. :rolleyes:
