Active Sync problems

I have reviewed the extensive list of problems that people are having with activesync to try and find my problem. If i missed it my apologies.

i have win xp (hate it) and an ipaq 3700. i have downloaded activesync 3.7 and can sync with no problems, HOWEVER i cannot add/remove programs from the activesync option. I have downloaded my pocket informant upgrade and cannot get it on my ipaq.

If i try to load PI without my ipaq synced i get a message that it will install on the next sync however when i sync the add/remove display flashes on the screen then disappears. this same thing happens when i try to install while synced....frustrating to say the least.

I have done a soft reset and a hard reset. The hard reset erased everything so i could not even get pocket informant (old version) on the PPC (let alone anyother downloaded software). I have sense used an old backup to fix that problem.

i have browed microsofts website and cant find a solution.

you can try reinstall the latest activesync (3.7.1);

Thanks i will try the alternative method for install. I will let you know if the AS 3.7.1 works (fingers crossed).

I was having the same Active sync problem with Windows Server 2003 and Outlook/Office 2003. AS 3.7.1 solved all the problems and it works just fine, now synching 5 PDA's and they all are happy.

Hi mr carrier,
Did you find a solution to this problem. I am having the same problem with my IPAQ 2210. Active sync works fine with all the normal inbox, calender etc. Aslo backup etc, is fine, but when I try to add software to my PDA from my desktop it fails, and tells me the device is not detected, please reconnect, etc. Also I have the add/remove screen flashing infront of me as you did.
The odd thing is I have activesync also installed on my work pc and the add/remove function works fine. Any solutions?

Has anyone got any advise about this problem. It's a big issue now that I want to install Pocket Money on my Pocket PC and synchronise with my desktop
