un locking 600

i just purchased a treo 600 on ebay and wish to use it on my New Zealand GSM network. thought it was unlocked found out it isn't (not that it has actually arrived yet so ... who knows it might not be) anyway... Any tricks or thoughts on unlocking it from Cingular network. i have read something about none of them being locked!$%#@
