I saw that there are several serial port CF adapters available for pocket PC's, but there is also a serial adapter built right in- the docking port. Is there any way to convert this to be used as a standard 9 pin adapter that can be used to attach various serial devices?

If not for the Axim (this is the most economical device, so if it could be done I would purchase one), could this be done on another PocketPC? Or even a Palm OS device?

What i am actually looking to do is find a serial adapter that will allow me to run simple input strings through a robot controller as a debugging device. If its going to cost me 100 bucks, forget it, i'll lug the laptop with me.

Thanks,
Pat

Awesome, that does the trick.

It is showed with the x5, but that means it wont work with the x3 because they changed the docking port configuration....

The x3 is still fairly new, perhaps one will show up soon. Will one of these cables for another make of PDA work with the new x3 port, or is the port completely proprietary? (as dell computers normally are)
