I have decided to buy a HP 2215 I will pick it up on Wed. 11-26

A few questions though.
I have Internet at work and at home, how would I connect to them from my 2215? Neither is dialup.

I am new to the PDA world and would like to become more familiar with them. Where would I get tips on what I can do with my 2215 at work or even at home to become better organized?

Does anyone have any experience with the 2215 and how would you rate it? As I said, I will not pick it up until Wed. If there is a better PDA around the same price range it is not too late.

Thanks

The only other choice in my opinion would be the 4150, it has integrated WiFi but it only has a SD slot no CF slot, so its kind of a tradeoff.

There are a number of ways to connect your PDA to the internet. If your PC is connected to the internet you can connect your PDA to the internet through Active Sync via cradle, IR, Bluetooth or WiFi.

Thank you for your responce.
Is Active Sync included with the 2215?
How far will Bluetooth transmit? Can I be in another room, across the same room, or do you need to be on top of the PC connected?

You can download latest activesync from MS:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/resources/downloads/pocketpc/activesync37.mspx

Bluetooth range is between 10m to 100m(class 1 dongle, best condition), expect 20-40m. It will work through walls within the range.

I found in Circut City the AmbiCom Wireless LAN IEEE 802.11b
Compact Flash Card ( model WL1100-CF ). It works also with my Toshiba laptop ( with a generic CF to PCMCIA adapter ). With a wireless router I have full DSL speed anywhere in my house. Beware though most wireless cards are quite power hungery ( this one gets a little warm in use ) so your 10 hour battery life wil be more like (approx.) 2-3 hours. The up side is this one has a power saver feature and you can unplug it while you read a big web page. I only found the power saver feature when pluged to my laptop which is my prefered method of configureing it.

I have a laptop that has infrared, is this a way to transmit Bluetooth?
If not, what would I need to transmit Bluetooth?

Thanks

I have the Toshiba, Satellite Pro.
It is suppose to be Bluetooth ready.
Is this all I need?
Thanks

Should be OK since the 2215 and 4150 both have integrated Bluetooth.

802.11b is WiFi and has a longer range than Bluetooth

If I install a BT Dongle to my USB should I be able to connect to the internet rom that PC? I have a new 2215 and spent hours trying to connect to the internet. I could contact the PC but couldn't get to the net unless I sync'd to the cradle. I bought a WIFI broadband router to connect with a WiFi CF card but I think I may have paid for more than I could have done on BT.

Help is welcome......

I've got the exact same situation and what I found was that with BT I can access my home network resources but not the internet. With the CF card in the 2215 I can acess the internet. I asked my self why can't one of these do both. I'm still trying.
