Well, I got my new EB Slipper case today, and I am very happy with it. I do have to say, the Covertec pockets are nicely arranged, that might be the only thing I like better about that case, oh, yes, and the color. The EB Case only comes in black, I really do like the brown color of the Covertec case. But the EB Case just seems more substantial, and it has hidden magnetic clasps along the bottom sides of the cover, when it closes it closes firmly, there's no strap going around the bottom to fiddle with, or to get in the way of the connections on the bottom. I even think there might be enough overhang on the sides to protect that damned record button somewhat! Since they are virtually the same price, the decision is really down to color and protection.

Hey Ann, how well does it fit in the cradle and hotsync in the Slipper? The desktop cradle, that is, not the auto cradle.

I just got my new EB case today too. Unfortunately, it does not seem to fit in the home cradle with the case, but it's only about 3mm on each side of the base where the connector is that interferes. After a while, I'll think about trimming it and report here.

I always takt it out of the case anyways when hotsynching or using it in the car cradle, so it doesn't bother me. The Slipper III was the same.

That's disappointing, since I like E&B cases. :(

So why does it clearly state on their web site QUOTE:

Hot-sync in cradle without removing from case

I'm call them on this. If it doesn't do what it says, isn't that a kind of false advertising? :(

My Covertec was just shipping, when the EB case came on the market. To be honest if it had not already shipped, I would have canceled and ordered the EB.

HOWEVER: I really LIKE the Covertec case, particularly with regards to the accessibility and operability with headphones plugged in. I had an EB slipper case for my iPAQ 3600 Series before and operating the MP3 player with headphones plugged in was a pain (and the slipper case for the iQue looks very similar). Also, I love the accessibility of the slots for the SD cards on the Covertec case (can't make a statement about the EB case).

For those though that want an all around and cushioned protection of the iQue, I would not recommend the Covertec case, it is very open, in particular on the sides (screen is well protected though).

I agree, although I do think the EB Case has better screen protection. And for the record, I tried to synch in the case here in the office, in the M series cradle, and it worked, so I'll have to go home tonight and try it again in the Garmin cradle (it helps to do things with your eyes fully open and awake :p ).

Has anyone had any luck using the EB Case with the Hot-synch cradle? It seems to be a great exaggeration when they claim "Hot-sync in cradle without removing from case" on the web site. I'm afraid to force it because I may ruin the IQue or the EB Case. It's a little disappointing and the overall fit hasn't been just right either. I trying to decide if I should return it and go back to the standard flip cover. Is everyone else happy with it?

I have never been able to hot-synch with any cover on any Palm, the Covertec case included. I just take it out, and put it back in when I'm finished. Do the same thing for the car kit, it just doesn't bother me. I'd rather have the coverage the EB Case gives than worry about hot-synching, but YMMV.
