Has anyone come across the problem of the "Location" field in Outlook not replicating across to the Psion during a synchronisation?
My work PC runs XP Pro and Office XP and my home machine is XP Pro with Office 2003. I use a netBook and a 5mx.
Everything else is just fine and the only reason this small field bothers me at all is because my company use it to insert the conference call numbers. The number of times I have been caught out at a motorway services with my instant on Psion but no details of what number to ring until the laptop finally boots up ten minutes later...........................
Any thoughts welcome :(
(New thread started by netBookBabe as is this a different issue from the discussion in its original location)

Unfortunately, PsiWin (or Intellisync, for that matter) does not sync the Location field in Outlook. The workaround is to have the Location field appended to the Description field in Outlook so it will sync with your Psion. I'm not at my usual location now so I don't have a copy of the VB code that you can use with Outlook to have this done automatically. If you do a Google groups search with "location field" as the key you'll find a copy of the VB code you need.

Jim,
Thank you very much I found the scripts and whilst I am not immediately clear how to use them I now have something I can work with and I should be able to get help with the implement
ation at work.
Many thanks indeed.
With kindest regards,

Dave,
Great! I'm glad you found the VB script you need. You'll have to remember to run the macro each time before you sync to get the Location field appended to new entries. If run into a problem with the VB script, write back and I'll give you a hand but it's pretty straightforward once you get a little familiar with Outlook macros.

Jim,
It was very easy in the end I took the VB script from the web site to our resident IT guru Rickie (the Hacker) Flack. Rickie told me just to copy the VB script into notepad and then instead of saving it as a dot txt document to save it as a dot vbs file. You can then double click on the vbs file and the script runs.
Actually it didn't quite run straight off but Rickie tweaked it for me and now it seems to synchs fine with a psion 5mx. Not tried netBook or Psion 7 yet but 5mx seems fine.
You have to use control/alt/delete to close the script but that's no bother.
If anybody wants the completed scripts (all you have to do is save them as vbs file and then double click before each synch) PM me with your email address and I'll mail them to you.
With kindest regards,
Dave

Dave,
It sounds like Rickie is a good guy to have around.:) Just to make things a little easier, you might ask him about copying the VBS file as a macro inside of Outlook. Once that's done, either a new menu item or a toolbar button can be used to run the macro and you won't have to manually close the macro. This will also prevent the problem of the VBS file being accidentally deleted.
