I didn't use the silkscreen email and photo buttons and missed having the good ol' calculator handy on a button, but I did not want it on one of the hard buttons.

I like the [memo] hard button to be Daynotez on my T3 but I also like the other three default apps that you normally access via the 4 buttons around the Dpad. I do not need email or photos to be accessed via the virtual buttons in the silkscreen area of the screen. Maybe it is old info to a lot of you but I found that silkscreen buttons can also be reassigned! I like being able to reset the virtual silkscreen buttons as well as the actual buttons.
My right two silkscreen buttons are now set to [Memo] and [Calc].

how do you go about changing the buttons?

to change , tap and hold the desired button with your stylus, and you'll see a drop down menu.

There is one other enhancement on the T3 - you should get a split screen of most recently used apps up at the top and then a list of all applications at the bottom which you can scroll to tap launch.
