Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : putting programs into ROM?
i haven't really experimented with this on the Tungsten T. I did it before on my old Palm III... It was pretty handy to load my common apps into ROM... Not the SD card or whatever, but Palms reserved space.
Any luck from anyone?

...be careful in messing with the ROM. See this (http://www.pdastreet.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=20987&highlight=JackFlash) thread and this (http://www.pdastreet.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24195&highlight=JackFlash) one.
The US T|T's don't have much ROM at all, the int'l ones have extra to fit in all these different languages. They're cool because you can go in and erase the languages you don't need and have plenty of ROM for app's. Alas, the US versions are pretty barebones, unless you completely don't use BT or other ROM apps. If you lose those, you can gain a MB or so.
Learn from my mistakes.

DON'T MESS WITH THE ROM FLASH. I TRIED JACKFLASH WITH MY TT3 AND IT STALLED AND I HAD TO HARD RESET. A RATHER BIG BUGGER IF YOU ASK ME.
BE CAREFUL!

it definitely looks like way too much risk for a very small gain..

That is the question of the year. What I did was to put it in the system catagory and am trying my best to forget about it. LOL

...it's easy to remove ROM app's. On my T|T I've removed "Expense" because it was in the way and I have SplashMoney so it was redundant.
It's just a pain if you remove things thinking you're going to get all this space to play with, and it's only like 768KB's.
Hopefully the T\3's have more ROM and y'all can have all kinds of space available to you when they do update the program.
Up-To-Date.
Happy New Year's.
