OS Upgrade - Language change?

I have an opportunity to buy a Palm IIIc from a friend at a very good price, but it is a French Language Unit. It has OS 3.5 now.

If I do the OS 4.1 Upgrade, will it upgrade the language to English?

I want the IIIc as I have trouble reading other Palm/Pocket PC Screens, and I've heard this one has great readability.

yes, updating to OS 4.1 should fix the language problem. A friend of mine did that with his japanese IIIc, and it worked just fine in english.

Yes, as a matter of fact, you will get some extra flash memory as well, which you can potentially use for storing applications and such. You will need an extra utility to use this space however :-(
