My wife and I both recently purchased Ipaq 3835's. Our problem is, we cannot sync Outlook to either of our ppc. I believe it is because we share the desktop computer that we are trying to sync to. Running Windows XP home and Office 2002. We each use Outlook, which would be user dependent. Anyone know how to workaround this problem??? Any help would be appreciated.

Greetings;

The wife and I use 3600 series and XP home with outlook. I have set up a user ID for each of us and we sync when logged in. I have found no problems yet, but I sync mostly at work. Do you have two user profiles setup?

Hi Scott,
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, we each use a differnet user ID on the desktop computer.

Each Ipaq can sync files, but will not sync up with Outlloks contacts, calender, etc. Receive an error message to rename folders that have the word "Microsoft" in them that are located in the "program files" folder. I am assuming that activesync is looking for one default folder, but the data is specific to the user in our case.

Do you have one WinXP login and two Outlook profiles, or two WinXP logins with and an Outlook profile setup in each?

Greetings;

I do not sync my Outlook at home only at work but the wife uses Outlook at home. That's why I don't have this problem.
Nitestrike has a point in asking exactly how you're setup.

We have two different logins, therefore two different sets of settings for outlook. seperate e-mails, calenders, contacts etc.

Just to clarify you each have your own Windows login.

What version of ActiveSync are you running?

Activesync version is 3.5. I downloaded a trial copy of intellisync,
and this works fine and very automatic. Links all the outlook tasks, but not files. So, as a temp fix, I use activesync for files, and intellisync for outlook. Tedious, but it works.
