Hi, im new to this board and im hopping you guys can help me out. I just bought my Palm E today and was in the process of putting all the data (sync) to my palm. The last thing i tried to download onto my palm was a game by BlueDogSoftware called "go". While syncing, my palm froze so i did a soft reset. That borught me ot the opening screen were it says "Palm power".
Well after that happened it stays frozen on the "palm powered" screen. Even after several soft and hard resets.
Ive tried searching palm website, and your website but to no avail.
Help please I need help

If a hard reset doesn't restore the Palm to a working state, I'd guess you have a hardware defect. And since it's a brand new machine, I'd take it back to the shop and get a replacement.
Got a Tungsten E last week, and exactly the same thing happened to me ... this is my second PDA, and have had various problems with these darn things .... they don't seem to be too stable. Anyway, what I did, was just leave the darn thing on (on battery power) until the battery run down. The next morning I tried everything again, and finally got the thing working. This may be too late to help you - you've either got it working by now, or perhaps returned it, as someone else suggested. good luck!

I have a frozen tungsten E problem... I've done every kind reset imaginable. My palm starts up then freezes on the "Location/Set Date and Time" screen. Hot sync doesn't work at all.
The bottom nav buttons will bring up different apps (notepad, memo, calendar...) but tapping the screen doesn't do anything.
And this handheld is less than a month old. Unfortunately I can't take it back to the store because I bought it overseas.
I'm doubtful it's a hardware defect because the handheld started playing up when I was using an installed application (Mapopolis) - I was getting fatal exception messages after resets... now THIS!
Is there a service/repair centre I can take it to? Anywhere in Los Angeles?
*edit -
And I can't even drain the battery power. My Tungsten is set to switch itself off after 2 minutes... I can't even change this setting because the device is frozen.
Is there any hope?

Had to reformat my E last week also.
Hold down the power button and keep it down. Then use the reset tool to reset.
A message will come up for you to delete EVERYTHING. TOTAL REFORMAT, loss of all data.
Then hot sync.
Everything you had on there will come back. (Except the stuff on a card, need backupMan for that.)
If it works, then yippee. If not go find your backup folder and throw out that last app you put on it. GO, i think it was.
Wipe it again and resync.

I just joined to tell you how to solve this, as I had this prob today and solved it.
Press the reset button while pressing up on your 4-way button and that will do the trick...
