Has anyone had the issue when hitting the end button or clear button, a character is returned. For example, when I hit the clear button sometimes, the phone returns '1' or a '4'. Hitting the end button will return '*'.

Anyone seen this? Very confusing...

Make sure that the contacts at the bottom of the flip are completely clean. It's possible that if not enough of a good connection is made that the keypad can act strange. If it doesn't seem to be that I would really consider getting the phone fixed or replaced.

I've done a soft reset when this happens.

I have a Kyocera 6035 that has had the same problems as mentioned earlier. Cleaning the post at the hinge plate as recommended is the best you can do. The post (2) are located just above the hinge, when the phone pad is open. Clean the post with a pencil eraser and the opposite pad also. This will certaintly help with all kinds of problems. I bought my "smartphone" when that is all there was, it is a good phone and the charge last forever.

Maybe your flip is worn out. Contact me if you want to know where to find a new one. bcrazy_jen@yahoo.com

I got a smartphone (a kyocera qcp 6035) for my birthday last April and I had problems with the buttons from the beginning. Sometimes you could close the flip and it wouldn't change screens like the flip wasn't closed. I could wiggle the flip from side to side and it would act like it was opening and closing. Well my wife took the thing to the Sprint store and they cleaned the contacts. It worked ok a couple of times and then went right back to the same malfunctioning. I figured it was just something I would have to live with and dismissed it for a while but then one day I was in a tinkering mood and wanted to see if I could fix the thing. I didn't want to dis-assemble the phone so I just took my wife's nailfile and scuffed up the two little contact pins located just above the flip hinge. I also scraped the little metal rectangular contact areas on the flip itself. THIS WORKED MIRACLES. I haven't had a bit of trouble out of the buttons since. I am not telling you to take a nailfile to your expensive phone but this is how I fixed mine and ended my agrevation, I hope it helps Y'all. RandyTech,,, Scout's Out!!

I have had my Kyocera 6035 and I have not had any problems with it. If you are interested, I'll be happpy to sell it to you. Assuming that you cannot fix the button problem.
