e740 always on

I have an e740. When in the cradle when my PC is on (which is always) the e740 does not turn off. The backlight will go off after some time as it should but the unit remains on.

I believe this is because of the constant syncing. But is the e740 actually supposed to stay on (minus the backlight)? Toshiba said no and then said yes...they were not much help.

If it is supposed to stay on the whole time it is in the cradle it would seem like that might not be good for it. Especially in my case since it may be in the cradle for up to a week without me using it.

BTW: If I turn it off it just turns back on again after a few minutes (in the cradle).

Any help or advice is appreciated.

go into settings, power and check the checkbox to enable it to turn off while in the cradle after so many minutes. and yes it does wake on serial access so it will be woken up by activesync every few minutes unless you disable it in the activesync options.
