CF Card Help

Hi guys

Ipaq 2210 PPC 2003

I have just deleted a file from my 512mb sandisk CF card using Pocket Explorer, and have found that it has deleted every file off the card leaving just the folders. Also the system reports that the total memory of the card is now 488mb. I have formatted the card using StorageTools, but it still say’s 488mb. Is the card knackered? Please help.

It's a differerent way of reporting memory size between the card manufacturers and operating system.
OS uses 1,048,576 BYTES = 1 mb
Card makers uses 1,000,000 BYTES = 1mb
512/1.048 ~ 488

Do you have any idea why I lost all the data in the first place?
I was deleting a jpg that was on the card (not in a folder).
I have now removed Pocket Explorer just in case it was that
