I recently upgraded my Palm PDA to the Garmin iQue and found that OmniRemote Pro 2.x no longer functions. I receive the following error:

ORLib.c,Line:990, OR
Library does not recognize your handheld's processor
ID: 00120000 Download new version of OR Library

I've tried downloading the latest ORLib with the same results.
Any ideia?

As far as I know, I don't think any Palm remote software is working with iQue yet.

OmniRemote developers are supposedly working on a fix for the iQue. Dunno when it will come out, though. The form email they send to users that ask about it say they expect the fix in 3 weeks. I sent an email asking about it about 2 weeks after somebody else on the board did. We both got the same response of 3 weeks.

Do a search on remote and you'll find some other threads along this line, but I haven't seen one that claims a remote works with the iQue, yet.

you're right, omniremote, noviiremote, palmremote, etc. dont work for the ique yet. i emailed the people who make omniremote said they are currently working on a fix. do what Cheval said and search the message board...better yet, email the company (pacific neo tek), maybe they have an update. -nate

I sent Pacific Neo-Tek an e-mail in early August in regards to the same issue. I did a follow-up in October and received the following response on Oct 2nd.

"We are currently working on this. Information crucial to this effort was just received from Garmin today."

They released a new version today, but it still does not work. (I upgraded the OR Library manually from their website) The error/exception no longer causes a soft reset and now states "IR will not work!" in addition to the regular error message.

People who are interested may want to post to their internal message board on www.pacificneotek.com. It might get them to look into this issue sooner if there's more of a demand.

I received this yesterday:

"As you are aware OmniRemote is not compatible with the Garmin iQue at this
time.

The Garmin uses a new processor, which at this time is not supported by the
OmniRemote software.

Our developer is currently at work on a version of OmniRemote Pro which
will be compatible with this new processor. Unfortunately, because this is
a complex problem it is impossible to say when this issue will be resolved,
however it will most likely be within the next three weeks. I have added
your email to our mailing list and you will be notified when a fix is released.

You did receive EXACTLY the same answer, which i did receive on 9 november 2003 !!!
So, i did also wait for three weeks (and longer)

We have to be patient.

Keep in mind this is a company that requires 3 weeks just to reply to your email...

It's a marketing function. They know that if they tell you more than 3 weeks you'll give up on them and look for some other company.

I don't think anyone has developed this as of yet so Garmin are you listening. We want our "remotes" so that our Que's will help us route our TV's correctly to the TV repair shops or so we can be really dangerous and change channels while we are driving.....:D sorry I just couldn't resist - I'm in one of those moods :)
