in an earlier post i said i'm thinking about samsung i700, meant i500. anyone have any advice regarding treo vs. samsung?

I originally purchased the i500, (I went back and forth between the i500 and the Treo 600), in the end, I returned the i500 and purchased the Treo 600. The i500 was an incredible phone, great screen, great size, but in the end I found the Treo more useful. The graffiti was a little challenging, even though I have experience. I came down to the following. I found the keyboard a little more useful. The phone, even though it has poor resolution (really poor), I use it occasionally to document things while I travel. The layout, from the five way control button to the favorites screen. The OS 5 was a minor factor and I had to upgrade some software, but I was thinking towards the future. I did have a Treo 270 and I guess the familiarity with that device played a role in the decision. There are a few other little things that made the difference. I am still happy with my choice. I purachsed mine at Best Buy, they told me I could use the phone for a week, if I did not like it, I could return it and get the other one.

when you say the resolution is poor, what is your point of comparison? was it hard to use the i500 as a pda while on the phone? have you tried this with the treo?

Sorry, that should actually read camera resolution. Many people have complained about the camera, my point is that this was not a major concern for me as I only use it rarely.

The I500 is not enough phone for the money. The I500 costs 200 dollars more than my I330 and has no speaker phone. I still have my I330! I've just upgraded to the Treo 600. I miss the graffiti writing and the wireless modem support but I love all the features for five hundred dollars.
