Not really a complaint, just a nit pick, but it would be nice if the links to the different messages would do a more profound job of changing color when you read the messages. On my screen anyway they change from black or dark gray to a different shade of dark gray. Blue might be nice or maybe red. Sure would be easier to keep track of one's own trail.

I don't quite follow this - my message headers don't alter at all when a message has been read. The "envelope" icon changes, yes, but not the actual text.
Have I completely misunderstood, or is this perhaps something to do with personal browser settings?

I spend some time on a couple of other boards that use the vBulletin software. When you open a message, read it, and return to the list of messages the link to the one you have visited will change color like about any hyperlink will do. One board I frequent changes the links from blue to dark gray. I assume that this feature would be set up by the board's administrator. It makes it rather simple to see if you have read a post or not. If you havn't visited for a while you can still see your trail, if it hasn's slipped too far down the page anyway.
