Zire71 Camera Problem

Purchased a used Zire71 from an online site at an insane discount, but found that when I slide the unit apart to activate the camera, I get a screen full of green static-like lines. If the unit is tapped, the picture sometimes comes on. (but most often not).

Is this in any way a software problem and, short of sending the unit back, is there anything else I can do on my end to correct this problem?

I really dont think its a software problem cuz you had to tap it for the picture to come on. So I suggest you send back and ask for a new zire 71.

It MIGHT be a software issue (slim chance). The problem might be a driver, such as a keyboard driver, that is demanding that the PDA check its status more often than the camera can cooperate with.

Turn off (or better yet, move to a memory card) any drivers you might have, and turn off the IR beaming for now.

If it is still happening, then swap it out.
