I have been having a problem with syncing my Axim to my PC. When I connect the PocketPC I am put into guest mode. If I delete the partnership I can sync again but only once. Once I reconnect the PocketPC I will enter into guest mode again. If I want to sync I need to recreate the partnership.

I spoke with Dell... we did some hard resets, repaired Outlook, reinstalled ActiveSync... all of the typical "I don't know what is happening" stuff. Dell even sent me a new Axim. Still having the same problem.

The errors I am getting in the wcesmgr.log are:
**** ActiveSync (3.7.3244 RETAIL) started, Cmd line: '/onconnect'

Has anyone seen this issue and been able to resolve it short of reformatting their PC?

Thanks!

Greetings;

I have not seen that.

Have you tried to install another version of activesync. I read that if you were having troubles with the new 3.7.1 to down load an earlier version.

3.7 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=67e9e87c-ca96-48b4-b5d4-f3e047ca5108&displaylang=en)

Give it a try.

Scott

This forum from Dell seemed to help my situation. It worked this morning and will take a day or two before I am convinced it is fixed.

http://delltalk.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=aximactivesync&message.id=3305

Now the problem I have is that each time I run activesync once, disconnect and reconnect my PDA activesync on the PDA becomes unresponsive and I need to do a soft reset or kill the running ActiveSync process before I can sync again.

I do think there is some truth to the "guest" problem being related to 3.7.1 because I don't recall having the problem before.
