SanDisk SD card Problem

Here's my problem:
I have an X5 300mhz with a Sandisk 128 CF card and 256 SD card. Every several months, for no apparent reason, the SD card will lose all data stored on it. So to try to solve this problem, i formatted the card using StorageTools. But when it formatted the card, it dropped the card size from 256 MB to 48KB! I have tried to reformat the card again to no avail. I've also tried using Flash Format to format the card to get the correct amount of space on the card but that too did not work.
Any Comments/Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

If your card is still under warranty, you should drop SanDisk a note (support@sandisk.com or fill out a form at http://www.sandisk.com/tech/s_central.asp). They have replaced mine and those of others, so they should replace yours. Be sure to emphasize that you are using it with an Axim.
