I have broadband on my desktop and I have an Ad-Hoc Wi-Fi network between my desktop (192.168.0.1) and laptop (192.168.0.3), with ICS enabled. It works fine.
I recently tried to access the Internet from my IPAQ by installing a D-Link DCF-660W WiFi CF card. I set a Specific IP address for the card of 192.168.0.4, Subnet 255.255.255.0 and Default gateway (of the ICS desktop) 192.168.0.1
I specified the correct ESSID and Network type (Ad-Hoc). The Wi-Fi card stopped blinking and shows a constant light showing connection.
I was able to successfully access POP3 email right away with the Pocket Outlook when I set up email with the above IP settings.
However, my problem is, that I cannot seem to access the Internet. When I click on the default links, nothing happens at all. When I type in my own link, such as www.google.com, again nothing happens.
What am I doing wrong? No doubt I am missing something terribly simple. I would appreciate any help and thanks for the patience of the experts in answering these questions.
