Word app failure on 9210i - Reason Code 1

Can anyone help me - the word app on my 9210i won't run - the failure code is a reason 1 - whatever that means - which is bizarre - because as a workaround I can transfer a doc from the PC - work with it and save it.
I've tried reboot etc - I wonder if it is a conflict with another app
