I have a continuing 'resolve items' problem in the Calendar sync process on my home pc.

I am trying to sync home and work through a Ipaq2215

Win 2000, Outlook 2000 at work
XP pro, Outlook 2003 at home

Specifically events with work attendees and resources will not sync at home.

Clicking through the resolution process slowly resolves the problem by creating a new contact for each attendee or resouce.

Am I missing a simple check-off setting to push the data from the PPC onto the home computer?

I would like to have the following:

Work PC overwrites PPC
PPC over writes Home

Suggestions?

I believe in Active sync there are settings for the rules used to resolve problems. If these rules are stored on your desktop set the office PC to override iPAQ and at home set the iPAQ to overrule the home PC.

I have a similiar problem from time to time and the only way to get it to resolve the problem is to create a contact at home. I know my work outlook has contacts stored in many different folders for some reason (IT dept. set it up that way) but at home I only have one folder for contacts.

I have tried all the variations of the rules. I suspect it might have to do with the configuration of the MS exchange enviroment at work. It may involve an update at work that is coming soon.

I believe the meetings set w/ my co-workers in the office calendar use an 'alias' rather than the email address as an internal tracking method. This 'alias' confounds my home PC because it cannot locate the information. As I create a contact each new meeting or appointment asks to create a new contact and cannot find the previous created contact. I think it may invlove creating an 'alias' or "Display as:" entry that matches the work 'alias'.

My IT manager returns to work next week, sounds like it is time to throw this issue up the ladder to the experts.

Thanks for your help.

The "alias" theory is probably right on the money as every time it happens to me at home it is in connection with a meeting and it always faults the lack of a resource which is usually me as an alias believe it or not. If you do come up with a permanenet solution I would be interested in it.

I am having the same problem, except I have meetings that have 200+ attendees. I certainly don't want to replicate my entire work address book at home. If anyone can figure out how to resolve these sync problems, please let me know.
