Is there any way to point the RealOne player to a memory card reader to transfer mp3 files?

I know I can just add files to the card from Windows but I want to reduce bit rate first. I like the higer bit rate on my computer but like the RealOne function that auto converts the bit rate when it sends them to the Palm. RealOne doesn't see my card reader as a device.

If this can be done would it be just as slow as putting the memory card in the Palm and transfering straight to the Palm ?

Thanks in advance

I use a cardreader and transfer mp3 files directly from computer to the card. Very easy and quickly: just drag and drop. RealPlayer on Zire got no problem to retreive the mp3 on card, as long as you place them in the RealPlayer folder.

I understand that you can just drag and drop files to a card reader but that keeps the original bit rate of the file. The nice thing about RealOne is that it will automatically reduce the bit rate when it sends files to the Palm (to save space) but leaves the original file as is (for high quality listening on my computer).

It would be nice to be able to point RealOne at the card reader, then you could get the auto bit rate reduction with the high speed transfers of the card reader and not change the original file.

dude, the only way i can think is through real one player. Thats why im having it in my palm all the time. (im using ptunes). the only reason im keeping real is that it could change the kbps into 96. so i can put more mp3s on my palm!
