I just bought the universal wireless PDA keyboard from Radioshack for my Toshiba E740. It works great! The driver
even allows to rotate the screen which makes browsing the web
much easier. Radioshack is offering $20 rebate on this item until 10/28, the price after rebate is $79.99+tax.

Hello, I just bought the keyboard from Radio Shack that you were talking about. Mine won't work with my e740. Could you tell me how you got yours to work? I bought mine at the Radio Shack store. The manufacturer is Microinnovations. The box says that it's compatable with Ipaqs and Jornadas. Is that the same keyboard you bought? Thanks for your help.

Sorry for the delay in reply.

Yes, the keyboard you got is the same as mine, which will absolutely work great with Toshiba E740. Here is how:

1. Download the driver for Toshiba E740 from

http://pocketop.radiant.net/drivers.shtml

2. Driver installation instructions:

Ensure you have the lastest device system software installed for your handheld.

Remove any previous versions of the Keyboard Driver on your handheld by accessing the Add/Remove Programs application within the Programs directory. Highlight the driver and tap remove.

Perform a soft re-set.

Download the PocketPC driver to any location on your hard drive.
Unzip the file. (Use the free Winzip tool)

Double Click on Setup.exe

The Setup.exe together with ActiveSync will install the driver onto the device.

The Keyboard driver can be activated launching any application, other than the Today screen, and accessing the "Pocketop Keyboard" from the choice of input methods. The short-cut to the choice of input methods can be found as a small keyboard icon at the lower right hand corner of the PDA display. Tap on "Pocketop Keyboard" when the pop-up menu appears activating the driver at which point icons will appear for rotation, backlight brightness, text macro and sound off/on.

Make sure you TURN OFF the InfraRed receiveing on your E740
