At Bigfattail (http://www.bigfattail.com/software/pocketsatplus/index.html) there is a program, called PocketSat+. It's available for Palm, but it doesn't work properly on my iQue.

Right now I'm trying with both program and database installed on the card, but that's not supposed to make any difference.

Please do me a favor and try it out on your iQue. It's for free (for trial), so it's only the labor you have to provide.

Just loaded the program. It looks very promising. However, I can't get the map view to work. I just get a bunch of horizontal lines. I chose the brightest 50 satellites but none are above the horizon at the moment so I can't test the program on that part.

Will try again later.

Exactly the same result as I get. Then I know that there's nothing I did that was the cause, now when you see the same thing.
Probably something they did at Garmin, which causes this problem.

Did you input the problem to the developer? (of the program, otherwise, I'll make input).

A lot of horisontal lines is what i've got whith a couple of programs that seem not to have been made compliant with the iQue screen - although they are said to be OS5 compliant

Bobny: Yes, and he responded, but the new version did no better, so far.
Now I've mailed him a screenshot of my screen, so he can see how ugly it looks.

Jonas: I can imagine you've tried what there is to try... Seems to be specific iQue problem, then.

On the other hand, many programs not written for the iQue are fine. For example, "Planetarium" does some similar things but for planets, asteroids, etc. and it works fine without modifications. Outdoor Navigator works well too and the screen display was not modified for the iQue. There are many others.

There must be some interface rules they are violating.

No, it's you :D Just kidding, this program has a problem running on the iQue. Specifically, the horizontal lines running through the display. If you pretend like the lines aren't there, the program runs just fine underneath, which is good, because it means the problem is graphical.

I've communicated with the developer several times about the problem and he's sent me a build that improves upon the problem but there are still lines running through the sky view.

The problem is for whatever reason, it runs just fine on the iQue simulator, he doesn't have access to an actual unit to try it on, and Garmin hasn't shed any light for him either. So he's kind of working in the dark. He'll get it nailed eventually I'm sure, just will take a little time.

(screenshot of the improved build showing the map view. Looks great. Next to it a shot of the still messed up sky view...)

With the first version I tried, the map looked allright, but there were dotted lines covering the supposed to be text below the map. Like the text was out of horizontal sync, to phrase it in TV terms.

Now, the version I've access to right now, the map is useless, but the skyview looks perfectly allright. On my iQue, that is.
