I have a problem with the My Pocket application with my MC218. After having set-up a file link, clicking 'Synchronise' brings up a very brief dialog which disappears and nothing happens.
It is a 'My Pocket Synchronisation' dialog box with a picture of a MC218 and a PC. It says 'Connecting' for a fraction of a second, then 'Identifying MC 218' before disappearing and doing nothing.
I've looked in the log and there is a line saying:
enable to determine owner
HELP please

Hi,
I have exactly the same problem and no answer. I have contacted Ericsson, but they don't come up with a solution.
Did you find out more in the mean time?
Cheers.

On the message board MC 218 I read there actually is a MC 218 "My Pocket" patch.
Does anyone know how you can obtain this patch? Or can you post it here?

There is a post about this in the old message board archives by a member offering to supply this patch:
http://www.psionplace.com/boards/Ericsson-MC218/messages/774.html
Perhaps you could contact the member to see if it is still available.

Hello,
I received the patch from TomTom. I have tried it and the problem with My Pocket is resolved. You can download the patch from here:
http://www.tt1.nl/customers/dsyncopyENG.exe
Here are the instructions from TomTom:
Instructions
find the following file on your computer
dsyncopy.exe rename this to dsyncopy.old
detach the file from this email and copy it to the directory where dsyncopy.old
resides.
rename dsyncopyENG.exe. to dsyncopy.exe
now reboot your system and then launch My Pocket
(See attached file: dsyncopyENG.exe)

Thank you so much! After changing my MC218 for another one, I had the same problem. Searched this forum and found your patch. And so My Pocket works fine again :) Angela

Hi
I am wondering if ther is a possibility to use My pocket with a netbook... I have both a MC 218(with software) and a Malaybook but it seems that installing both epocconnect and Psiwin messes up the whole thing and renders both programs useless...
My primerary focus would be on syncronizing my word and excell files between my PC and Netbook.
If this is a no go. Does anyone have any other ideas as to what could work?
I am considering making a new user in my win XP and installing my pocket there... And try to synch my files that way. But this seems a litle clumsy to me.
Thougths and ideas are appreaciated.
Cheers

I don’t know if this is any help for you, but I use PsiWin 2.3.3 with my MC218 and I don’t use epoc. So maybe you don’t need both, epoc and Psiwin? (I use W2000). Greetings, Angela

I think this is a bit of a "Catch 22". As far as I know, this is the situation:
PsiWin and EpocConnect cannot co-exist on the same system.
My Pocket will work only with EpocConnect, not with PsiWin, although the MBook should work quite happily with EpocConnect, and should be able to run My Pocket.
The stumbling block is probably WinXP - my understanding is that it requires PsiWin version 2.3.3 and doesn't cope with EpocConnect. :(
Although I own an MC218, I have several other Psions too, so have always relied on PsiWin for all of them and have never actually tried EpocConnect.

I use My Pocket with Psiwin and it works fine (after installing the patch from TomTom). Although I use W2000, I think it is worth trying. Angela

Hi all
Seems there IS a catch. The My pocket software supplied with my MC 218 doesn't want to install with Psiwin 2.3.3...
Have mailed TomTom and asked if they have a patch for this particular problem, but have not recieved an answer yet...
Seem buying is the only option
