I've gathered that the Panasonic SD card is considered to be the premier SD card but, what seperates it from the Toshiba or the Kingston?

I've used Kingston memory for about 10 years or more, and have never had any issues with that brand. Have no knowledge about the Toshiba memory. From what I gather, the speed of the SD card is important in both read and write functions, hence the problems with the SanDisk card some users have mentioned.

YMMV

If you search this forum you will get more information pertaining to your question than you probably thought existed. Don't search for "SD Card" because "SD" is under the minimum word length criteria. Try "best card" and you find even speed ratings that members have provided with their own testing.

I've found that some people like one brand and dislike another but I haven't found anyone who dislikes the Panasonics. The speed helps with the map drawing more than anything else.

I would add that the speed of the SD card also directly affects the time the iQue takes to calculate a new route.

For the test I took a route from Poughkeepsie, NY to Liberty Park Marina in New Jersey. The route went through a lot of congested areas in New Jersey (to say the least) with lots of turns. The results:

For the SanDisk card: 1 min 58 sec (to get a route displayed)
For the Panasonic card: 53 sec
