My M505's letter-side of the graffiti area seems to be losing its sensitivity. Character recognition is intermittent at best, generally creating the wrong character. The pop-up keyboard works fine. Tried resetting the graffiti by using the built in "tap this spot" exercise.
Anyone else experience this, or any suggestions? Thanks in advance

How old is your 505? Does the bad area look worn? Does it register ok across the rest of the screen, and on the 4 silkscreen buttons? How about at the little Brightness and Clock symbols?
Perhaps there is dirt between the screen and the frame. Sounds baffling.
This PDA has always had a screen cover, including the graffiti area. Tapping any of the corner or program icons works without difficulty.
It's almost as if the touch sensitivity of the letter side has worn out...

Calvin's FAQ used to have a note on PalmPilot digitizers getting worn out due to too much graffiti. It noted that one guy used tape to lift the plastic digitizer cover off the glass, and got it to work again. Perhaps you can try to squeeze air from the top of the screen into the letter graffiti area. Hate to tell you to replace your screen.
