Battery drain on 5mx?

Hi folks

The thing is, on my old series 3a connecting via the serial link to a PC would cause increased battery drain whether or not you were actually using it. Is this the same when conecting a 5mx? I use my 5mx at work a lot and would like to leave it attached to my laptop all the time, but not if it means my batts will go down the pan!

I am afraid you are right on this one. The battery consumption is increased when you switch on your external link (either IR or cable). This is the case even if you have got a cable or other IRDA device connected. Best thing to do is to buy a second power adapter and leave it in work. Problem solved !!
