USB Hot Sync problems

Just bought an iConcepts USB hotsync cable for my jornada 520 series. the package said fits jornada 525 and 548, so i figured it would work with mine. the cable fits, but no connection is being made. was i incorrect in my assumption? also, still wondering about the nokia 3360 IR connection.

Sure they all advertise that the usb cable works on this series but the truth is only the charging portion works. I went through the same thing - wondering what I had done wrong - then discovered a message under another service from another 525 owner that this was the situation. The solution is to return the cable you bought and buy a USB to Serial converter (The one I have is made by Belkin) this will allow you to sync again. In my situation I had my laptop replaced at work and the new one had no Serial Port as many new models do not. Imagine my frustration during the week or two that I thought the new laptop had made my handheld obsolete!
