Is it possible?, I know it's not there, but the PDA has a good speaker capable of playing music and any kind of sound and any speaker is a microphone too since all microphones are speakers anyway.
So is there any software that would allow you to do that?,
I mean if they figured out how to play WAV files in older Palm Pilots like the V and m100 with the right software they may as well do this with this model, don't you think?

Maybe it depends on what kind of speaker is inside of the Tungsten E.
If someone develops such an voice recording application, I will be surely one of the TE-users who will be eager to pay for such add-on.
Anybody else?

True, all speakers are microphones but that depends on how they are wired. I'm sure that if the T|E's speaker was somehow wried so it could also be microphone PalmOne themeselves would have bundled their voice recording app with the T|E. Playing a WAV file on an older Palm didn't require special wiring for the speaker; it was still an output device used in a different way.

hello,
there is no way to make the speaker a mic. it is not a device that accepts input from anyother device such as a mic. those are two different things and audio formats. You could however, transfer a .wav or mp3 file from a computer to the realone platform. hope this helps.

There has got to be a way to mod a microphone onto the TE though. I'm not good a this kind of stuff, not very anyways, so I'm gonna leave the development of this idea to a hardcore modder.

That's what I say, there has to be a way, I mean it can't be just like that, the Tungsten E is such a good model (better than many others that cost a lot more) and the only thing missing is a voice recording to be the best Palm Powered PDA around, the most compleate yet simple without too many whistle and useless show up functions.

Who really cares? I doubt there is a way to do it, but i used to have an iPaq before converting to palm which had a microphone and i never used it, it is just as easy to jot something down.

I really hope there's a way to do it simply b/c I have this little digital recorder that I use all the time, and I'd like to not have to carry it around anymore.

hello,
I can only think of one way that a voice recording application/hardware would work with the palm Tungsten E. It may be possible to engineer hardware that would insert into the SD slot with an implemented microphone. One question though: Is it really worth it? I don't like to hear myself talk anyway, so i'd rather write it down.

That's a great idea, that way it would be optional for the ones who actually use it and could apply to any Palm not just the Tungsten E. Just like they made a card for bluetooth they could make one for voice recording recording.

That was exactly the type of add-on that I was thinking would work. We should all email Palm & tell them to come out with something like that! They would make a lot of money on it- I know I'd but one.
