Hotsync w Outlook Express 6.0

I am tracking down something a Palm Techrep fed me. I cannot hotsync in the same computer session to get my email from OE 6.0. I have to reboot first. In all other respects, the hotsync works well with Outlook. The TECHREP said, "oh, that is a problem with OE 6.0. It syncs up once, and then clears your palm afterwards..." Has anyone heard of this? Is there a fix?

I have experienced the problem. Sadly I decided tha I really didn't want to get my mail via Outlook Express due to all the virus concerns so I stopped before I had to examine the problem. Tomorrow I'll reconnect to Outlook Express and see what gives.

Many thanks. As additional info, i have been back and forth uninstalling and reinstalling the Palm s/w. I have also moved the jack into a dif USB Port.

The Palm Knowledge Base does encourage the use of OE 5 not 6. I tried doing the mail sync a couple times this AM and do note that the results on the second sync are different when your PC is on line during the HotSync. Are you generally on line during the sync? OE 6 tries to go on line to get new mail and that can cause a problem if you are off line.
I'll try it a few morew times today and get back with you.

Yep, I'm generally online when I do any of the syncs. So you think it takes the original hotsync off of my computer but then looks on the net for any subsequent hotsync during that session? Interesting... But it still leaves me hanging as to how i am going to solve this problem.

My last three hotsyncs with mail configured to Sync and with new mail in the inbox, hot to go, I had no mail delievered to the Palm. They may be right about V6. Sorry.
