Hi,
I'm a brand new Blackberry administrator, just finished the Enterprise Server install. Now I'd like to configure one of the devices to my email address to test it. Unfortunately, I don't get a handheld of my own. Can I set it up for myself and then reassign it to someone else later? Do I just delete myself as a user and then add the final user? Do I need to do anything to reset the device? TIA.

Install the desktop software; when you put the BB into the cradle, it should recognize "you" as the owner of the BB and then aswk if you want to be added (or switched). Say Yes and then Sync up. If you are using someone else's BB, make sure to do a full backup of their data before you load your information on top.
When you are done, back it up. Sign on as another user and start the desktop software. That will switch to another user (you'll have to create a new security key). That's about it. It's straightforward once you start it up.
NJ's Idea works great if your using the desktop redirector but if you have already added the user to the BES then you will have to switch him off and put yourself in.
It's easy and can be done.
Bottom line, do the backup first if the user has already gotten messages on the unit. If not, don't worry about it.
Use Exchange admin to add/remove users from your BES. Well, if you are using BES 2.1 that is. if BES 3.5 use the MMC.

Sorry Will - I am sure that when you log in as a different user than the one the BES thinks owns the BB, it will ask if you want to switch. It has nothing to do with the desktop redirector. You don't need to drop them from the BES unless you are switching them from one BES to another BES within the same Exchange site. We have two BES', one for the US and one for the UK.

Thanks NJ and Will, I was able to set myself up on the Blackberry, test it for a few days, and then move it over to my boss. I went back to exchange and deleted myself from the Blackberry handheld admin.
