What is the latest version number?

My iQue reports 5.2.1r2. Is that the latest?

Also, I noticed that there is a mapsource update on Garmin's site. It is listed as version 5.4 for US Topo products. That's not what I need is it?

The release you have is the latest but may still need the Patch.

Topo is only for topographic maps.

This link (http://www.garmin.com/products/iQue3600/) will take you to the iQue's home page from there you'll see "Software Patch, MapInstall and Conduits" Follow each one and this should get you all of the latest software for the handheld as well as the desktop.

The patch to Release 2 is ok to install again because I've tried it. You do not need to download the software update - it's already on your Que. :)

Mapsource gets to be confusing because its a term that Garmin uses for the executable as well as the description.

The Mapsource download at the Que web site is strictly an executable to assist with map loading and downloading. Primarily to recognize the Que without having to necessarily use the mapinstall applet inside the Palm Desktop Software.

The actual update to the points of interest and data will come with a revised version of City Select North America - the European version has been updated earlier this month. Also, for those devices that actually route on board (Que) the routing is contained within the map software ie City Select North America.

The City Select NA version - will probably be out in January according to some other poster's in the know. :)
