Hello All,
Wishing everyone a happy and safe holiday season.

I'm wanting to install a backup to my TT3. Backup buddy seems to be my choice. My question is should I go for the lite or full version. Money is not the issue if I were to be short changed the features and safety.

Please let me know your thoughts!

Thanks,
o2

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

I am using BackupbuddyVFS Full Version on my Tungsten T.

The big difference as I understand it from the lite edition is that you have an "advanced" mode. This allows you to backup and restore individual files. Backing up individual files isn't much of an extra as backing up my whole Palm takes only a short time anyway. One great feature of BackupBuddy VFS is that it only backs up changed files so after the first backup everything is very quick.

In restore mode the advanced feature is truly useful at least to me. It allows me to experiment with changing the version or settings of a particular program and then restoring the old one if needed. If only one program goes rogue on you you can simply restore that program alone.

The lite version does a full backup and restore like the full version and unless you are wanting to backup and restore individual files then you won't be missing anything vital.

By the way I have restored my system from scratch a number of times with Backupbuddy VFS and it has worked a treat. One tip though - If you are doing a full restore do a hard reset of the palm first. This makes sure you have no annoying conflicts with programs that won't be written over easily. You can easily access BackupVFS on the SD Card and run it from there. No need to reset all the system preferences such as location etc as the full restore brings it all back to the way it was when you last backed up

RHLB,

Geeez, that was such wonderful information. I really appreciate you taking the time to describe and recommend your experience. I'm going to take the full version tonight, and I will post my results.

Take Care and Happy Holidays
