Hi everyone,

I just exchanged my T3 for a new one. The other one had a very short battery life (maybe I'm expecting what I got from my M515... I may be being unreasonable). Now I'm inexperienced with the T3, but from what I've read, depending on usage, I should get 4-5 hours of battery life from the T3. I've been lucky if I've gotten 3hours. I keep the backlight setting low, I have bluetooth off, I use no multimedia (mp3s, Kinoma etc). For the most part, all I use the T3 for is inputing data (hours, job details etc), a few calculations, , the occasional voice memo, and as an alarm in the morning (which can sometimes go for 30 minutes snoozes included). Any thoughts on a reasonable expectation for battery life?

Also, I've just placed my new T3 on the charger and I've heard different lengths of time for how long the first charge should be. I've heard 4 hours, I've heard 24 hours, and everything in between. Any thoughts on this? I want to do everything I can to condition this battery properly, and I don't want to over or under do it. My last T3 received a 24 hour charge the first time and three full recharge and discharge cycles afterwards before I started placing the Palm on the charger whenever I felt like it.

Thoughts? Opinions? Experiences? All are appreciated. Thanks.

Wow, didn't realize this question would be such a stumper.

Hi,

In my experience with T3 since I got one early Oct 2003, I get around 3-5 hours from a full charge, depending on what combination of applications I used on the PDA.

To get an accurate reading of the battery performance, I use Battery Graph (here) (http://www.freewarepalm.com/utilities/batterygraph.shtml)

At full 100% charge the battery reading is 4,250 mV.

Regarding the first charge, I put mine on the charger for 9 hours.

Thanks for the reply aliff. It's always good to compare notes with other T3 owners to make sure I've got a good one, and to make sure I set mine up properly. Hope you're having a good holiday season.
