looking for rumours about the next Palm

I'm looking for rumours about the next Palm. My Vx is about to die anytime now. I don't want to just jump out and buy the m515 and find out that Palm anounces the new m530 or m550 next month. The Zire is cute, but it's not what I'm looking for. If anyone knows what models and when they are expected to come out, please keep me posted. thx

Well, your on the wrong board, but here goes...

Palms next big project, excluding the zire, is the Tungsten. I don't know a ton about the specs, but basically it sould have
palm os 5,
a 200 mhz arm processor(different from the current 33 mhz dragonballs, will still run most apps, 4/5, and will run them about 2x as fast, apps built with arm processors in mind should zip right along)
16 mb(I hoped for more...)
320x320 resolution
a sliding graffiti area(the buttons slide down to reveal the graffiti area, a bad idea fo me, but some people need less size)
a 5(?) way button in the middle + 2 on either side
mp3 playing
voice recording
bluetooth(YYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYHHHHHHHAAAAAA A!!!!!!)
that's about it....

Actually, the processor will only be 175mhz. These aren't really rumors anymore either. More like news. I'm looking for the 1.7ghz ARM processor. now THAT would be a Palm!

Ahh yes, thankyou mhamann, I was thinking of the nx70v and nx60 when refering to the 200mhz, and yes, the tungsten comes out on sometime around christmas, so these arn't really rumors(I still love that sony beat palm in coming out with an os 5 pda).
Yes, 1.7 ghz would be a palm, hmm, are those small enough(the chips I mean)? Personally though, I think they need larger screens first. 1.7 g would be great, but really pretty pointless with the current memory and screen size. They need mini hard drives, at least 800x600 screens, and then a 1.7 g would be glorious. The scary part is that they could make stuff like that, no problem, they already have it, and with the new proton battery supposedly coming out(yeah, once the legal junk is out of the way), battery power would no longer be problem, what would be a problem? Somewhere around multiple thousands of dollars out of you pocket... the world just sucks, huh?

So the Palm Tungsten should be out sometime before X-mas. Great to hear that. I want to thank everyone for the information. Now I just have to wait for this Tungsten.......

Uh, the Tungsten T will be released 10/28, quite a bit before Christmas.

Are you sure? I was going to say the same, then I remebered that was the nx60. Are you getting them confused, am I, or by some strange twist of fate, are they releasing them on the same day? Well, whatever the case, I hope you're right, the sooner the better!!

I've seen the 10/28 date that dequardo mentioned elsewhere as well. I've also seen information On the Sony NX series coming out on 10/28 as well, so it looks like they are both coming out on the same date. I also checked with a friend at my local Best Buy store, and his system indicates that they will be getting both the Tungsten T and all three NX series (NX-70v silver, NX-70v gray, and NX-60 silver) one week later on 11/3. Me, I can't wait! :D
